PROPAGANDA AND DECEPTION RELATED BOOKS FOR GEOINT

FOREWORD
Not everything you see is as it seems and sometimes while a picture could say a thousand words, are those words reflecting the truth? Lately propaganda and deception operations have increased around the world. Counter-imagery intelligence is nothing new, it has been used by militaries around the world for decades but with the increase in satellite imagery becoming more widely available, countering deception and creating deception within the GEOINT field is entering a new level. Higher resolutions, more frequent coverage and quicker access to data demands new challenges and tactics in Geospatial Intelligence. While machine learning might seem like the answer to satellite analysis, it is open to being manipulated through low-tech and affordable means. We see this increasing in the future as counter-imagery intelligence (C-IMINT) makes its way into the commercial market, protecting trade secrects, stock inventories and other areas viewable from hundreds of kilometers above. This will increase the need for ground-truthing technologies, multi-satellite confirmations and human intelligence not to mention the counter-operations involving Anti-UAV, jamming and related methods to keep the unknowns unknown. Our new section also provides some background material in the history and craft of propaganda and deception.
As with all our sections, we will add new books below when and where available.
We hope you learn something new. Enjoy the reading.

Governments have sought to control, censor, or bend art to their own purposes; artists have resisted and subverted such efforts. But what happens when artists work on behalf of a political program? When does art become propaganda? Is art tainted, diminished, or elevated by its political content?
